Naturally relieve a sore stomach with 5 simple remedies

Lots of us can suffer from a sore stomach and quite frankly it is not very agreeable, even sometimes painful.  Conventional antacids that you can buy over the counter can contain calcium salts, aluminium and magnesium.  They help neutralise surplus acid thanks to their basic pH.  However did you know there are few natural remedies (5 in fact) that can soothe acidity quickly thanks to their natural properties. 

1/  Papaya smoothie

What you need:

  • 3 slices of papaya
  • 1 spoon of flax seed (about 10 g)
  • A glass of water (about 200 ml)
  • 1 spoon of honey (preferably organic) (about 25 g)


1) Cut the papaya into small cubes and then mix them with the flax seeds, water and honey.

2) Once the smoothie is ready, drink!

2/ Mint infusion

What you need:

  • 1 spoon of mint leaves (about 10 g)
  • 250 ml of water


1) Put the mint leaves into a cup of boiling water.

2) Leave the mixture to infuse for about twenty minutes.

3) Now you can filter your mixture.

4) Drink the cup about thirty minutes after your meal.

3 – Aloe vera, cucumber and apple

What do you need:

  • Half a cucumber
  • 2 green apples
  • 3 spoons of aloe vera gel (about 45 g)
  • 1 glass of water (about 200 ml)
  • 1 spoon of honey (about 25 g)


1) Cut the cucumber and the apple into small cubes and then mix everything with the Aloe Vera gel and the glass of water.

2) Add some honey at the end to sweeten the taste.

3) Drink this mixture after a hearty meal.

4 – Bicarbonate of soda and lemon

What you need:

  • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda (about 5 g)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 glass of water (about 200 ml)


1) Pour the bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice into a glass and then add some water.

2) Once the bubbles have disappeared you can drink your mixture when you start to feel signs of stomach acidity. So simple, isn’t it?

5/ Potato water

What you need:

  • 1 potato
  • 125 ml of water


1) Grate the potato and then squeeze the pulp to extract the juice.

2) Add 2 to 3 spoons of potato juice to half a glass of water.

3) Drink your mixture with small sips when you start feeling the first symptoms of a sore stomach.
