Green tea is popular around the world thanks to it’s subtle flavour and it’s numerous benefits.  This growing trend for green tea doesn’t seem to be slowing down either.  And why would it when we know that it is excellent for our health but also our hair.  This tea has many benefits including encouraging hair growth as it inhibits DHT which slows down growth.  However green tea also helps prevent hair loss as well. An excellent ingredient if you’d like to have radiant locks of hair.  Read on to find out more about 5 natural treatments. 

1) Water rinse for glossy and strengthened hair

Infuse 10 g of green in 750 ml of boiling water and leave for around 10 minutes.  Filter your tea and leave to cool.  Once cooled you can use it on your hair when you give your hair it’s final rinse.  Using cold water on your hair for it’s final rinse is beneficial for your scalp and can give your hair a glossy appearance.  Green tea can also strengthen your hair.

2) Anti-dandruff lotion

Boil up 250 ml of water and add 4 g of green tea.  Continue by adding 3 tablespoons of cold pressed virgin coconut oil (found in a pharmacy or supermarket) and the zest of a lemon.  Apply this treatment to your scalp and then massage.  Leave in your hair for 30 minutes before rinsing.

3) An effective hydrating treatment

Infuse 5 g of green tea in 250 ml of hot water.  Add a tablespoon of honey to the mixture and another tablespoon of cold pressed virgin coconut oil.  (You can find this in the supermarket or a pharmacy).  Mix together carefully and apply the entire mixture onto your hair.  Leave for 30 minutes before continuing to shampoo your hair as normal.

4) Apply green tea before shampooing your hair

Boil up some water and add 15 g of green tea and leave it to infuse for 15 minutes.  Add 2 teaspoons of cider vinegar and 1 teaspoon of honey.  Before shampooing your hair as normal, massage this mixture into your scalp for ten minutes.

5) Hair mask to encourage hair growth

Crack a large egg and beat it then add two tablespoons of powdered green tea extract. (You can find this in the pharmacy).  Apply the mixture to your scalp working in sections.  Leave the mixture in your hair for 30 minutes and then wash your hair with your normal shampoo and conditioner.
