Almost everyone will have had an ulcer in their life.  Everyone will agree it is not the most pleasurable feeling.  Ulcers generally disappear in about a week, but did you know that you can speed up the healing process by turning to some natural ingredients with anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and healing properties. Give your self defenses a little helping hand as they deserve it! 

1/  Tea tree oil

What you need:

  • 3 drops of tea tree essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon of water (5 ml)

Steps:

1) Dilute the tea tree oil with the teaspoon of water.

2)  Soak a cotton bud or a piece of cotton with this mixture and apply to the affected area.

3) You can repeat this process 2 to 3 times per day for two days. That is it!

2 – Pomegranate peel

What you need:

  • 1 teaspoon of dried pomegranate peel (about 5 g)
  • 250 ml of water

Steps:

1) Add the pomegranate peel and your glass of water to a pan and boil on a low heat for 10 minutes.

2) Leave to sit at room temperature and then filter the mixture.

3) Gargle a few mouthfuls of this mixture for about two minutes.

4) Repeat this treatment twice per day for two days.  It is as simply as that.

3 -The power of aloe vera

What you need:

– 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel (about 15 g)

Steps: 

1) Begin by extracting the gel from your aloe vera plant and then rub the gel onto your ulcer.

2)  Leave to react without rinsing.

3)  Use the gel everyday until the ulcer disappears.  You will see that it will disappear very quickly.

4/ Birch leaves

What you need:

  • 1 teaspoon of dried birch leaves (about 10 g)
  • 125 ml of water

Steps:

1) Place the birch leaves into a pot of water and leave to boil for 10 minutes.

2) Filter the liquid and then use the mixture to rinse your mouth.

3) Gargle the birch leave water 2 to 3 times per day.

5/  Bicarbonate of soda (The wonder ingredient!)

What you need:

  • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda (about 5 g)
  • 125 ml of water

Steps:

1)  Dilute the bicarbonate of soda with hot water.

2)  Gargle the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes.

3)  Use everyday until your ulcer has completely healed.  Again after two to three days your mouth with be ulcer free!
