Sometimes, your beloved pet has a few little problems: urinary infections, fear, boredom, etc. All the little troubles in your cat’s life can lead him to peeing on the furniture or the floors, and unfortunately, the smell is unbearable! We have already taught you how to teach your cat to use a litterbox, but in case he still has accidents (!) in this article, we’ll show you how to clean up pee to get rid of any traces or odours.
1.The simplest solution
Maybe you don’t have many ingredients to hand? Mix 3/4 of a cup of white vinegar with 1/4 water. Scrub with a clean cloth, and rinse well. Dry with kitchen roll or a clean dry towel.
2. Bicarbonate of soda
Here again, the mixture is simple and you only need one ingredient! Sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda to the urine and leave it to act for at least 3 hours. All you need to do then is vacuum! Don’t forget to change the hoover bag afterwards, because otherwise the odours will stay in there.
3. Bicarbonate of soda mix
Take a dessertspoon of bicarbonate of soda and mix it with a teaspoon of lemon juice and 3 drops of lemon essential oil. Add hot water and pour it into a spray flask. Spray the urine and allow it to work, without rinsing. This technique will remove odours and microbes.
4. White vinegar mix
Like in tip number 1, mix a cup of hot water with a cup of white vinegar. Add 1 dessertspoon of 70% alcohol and spray on to the stain. Leave to dry, rinse, and dry with a dry cloth.
5. A perfumed mixture
For this fragranced mixture, mix 2 dessertspoons of bicarbonate of soda, 2 dessertspoons of oxygenated water and 2 dessertspoons of washing up liquid. Add 1 dessertspoon of vanilla flavouring and 2 cups of lukewarm water. Use a clean cloth to clean the floor with the mixture, and dry it completely afterwards.
